Challenges
The client faced challenges in managing and tracking ideas efficiently across various programs. The existing system lacked:
- A structured workflow for idea implementation
- Real-time tracking of idea progression
- Analytics dashboard to assess cost, mass, and time savings for ideas that can be implemented or being implemented currently.
- Role-based permission management to streamline access and approval
- Additionally, technical roadblocks such as testing environment delays, API dependencies, and infrastructure issues led to bottlenecks in delivery timelines.
Solution
To address these challenges, our team implemented the following:
- Implemented Merit Status tracking for ideas and an enhanced status tracker.
- Integrated Iceberg and Eureka application using queues for seamless data exchange.
- Deployed role-based permission management and rule engine enhancements for better access control.
- Conducted rigorous bug analysis and regression testing to ensure a stable, high-performing system.
- Ensured cross-team collaboration between development, testing, and operations for on-time delivery.
Results
- Successfully developed and delivered 51 user stories covering the areas Program Code Management, IWT, and Analytics Dashboard.
- Developed and parked 9 user stories related to Rule Engine-Permission Management & Applicability Matrix for future implementation.
- Addressed regression bugs and optimized system performance for UAT readiness.
- Achieved successful integration of analytics dashboard using custom charts for advanced analytics and reporting.
Impact
- 60 user stories delivered to CSG, with 55 moved to UAT.
- Daily Delivery Rate: Team A - 0.6 user stories/day, Team B - 0.5 user stories/day.
- A significant reduction in implementation time by optimizing workflow efficiency and reducing manual effort.
